Skunked Dog Policy

Your dog must be treated at home before coming in to be washed at our facility. We carry Skout’s Honor Skunk Treatment in the shop and recommend using that as soon as possible. It is most effective when used PRIOR to washing. Or if you are in need of a DIY solution, use the following treatment prior to your visit, taking care to avoid your dog's eyes:

1 quart of 3-percent hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda.
1 teaspoon liquid Dawn dishwashing soap

Wear rubber gloves to apply the solution immediately after they have been sprayed. Massage the mixture throughout the fur, and down to the skin, taking care to avoid eye. Do not leave mixture on for too long as the peroxide can lighten your dog’s fur.

Rinse after a few minutes, then rinse some more!

STORE POLICIeS

Dogs must be on a leash at all times.

A $75 deposit is required to hold all Full-Service Grooming appointments.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, let us know at least 24-hours prior, and your deposit will be refunded or applied to your rescheduled appointment. With less than 24-hours notice, your deposit is non-refundable. We want you to keep your grooming appointment just as much as you do, so call with any questions or concerns, and we'll see what options we can offer you.

If you are going to be late, please give us a heads up. If we don't hear from you within 15 minutes of your scheduled appointment time, we will consider you a No-Show, and your deposit is non-refundable. We will gladly book you for a new appointment, and add you to our cancellation list.

All dogs must be current on their rabies shot.  Please have your dog’s current rabies tag on their collar, or bring a copy of the vet records.

Our facility is not equipped to deal with dogs that have fleas.  If we notice fleas while bathing or grooming your dog, we will call you to pick up your dog immediately. We will try our hardest to fill the appointment slot, but if it remains unfilled, your $75 deposit is non-refundable. And you may incur a Flea Clean-Up Charge.

If we notice a tick on your dog while grooming, we will attempt to safely remove it and inform you at pick up.

LATE PICK-UP FEE

MSD would like you and your dog to have a One on One grooming experience with our groomers. As we are not set up to hold dogs past their 2-hour scheduled grooming appointment so we ask that you be as prompted as possible dropping off and when picking up your pooch. If you are more than 15 minutes for either drop off or pickup you will be charged an additional $25 late fee for every 15 minutes you are late.

Quotes for grooming depend on several factors and pricing varies. We pride ourselves on accurate pricing for the work and time the groomer puts into caring for your dog when they are here. Once our groomer has begun to work on your dog, they may encounter conditions that require an extra charge.

We work hard to make all dogs comfortable, but we recognize that some dogs are naturally anxious. If your dog becomes reactive, aggressive or excessively anxious, we will stop the grooming and you will only be charged for the work that has been completed.

If your dog does get anxious around other dogs, we will gladly work with you to schedule an appointment to best accommodate your dog's needs.

-Maine Soggy Dog will not be held liable for any razer burn, cuts, nicks or any other injuries your dog might receive while being groomed here at Maine Soggy Dog. You are responsible for any vet bills associated with said injuries.
